Another Mount Pleasant native, Dr. Marian Shuler Holladay, experienced the best of both rural and suburban life as a child. On weekends and during the summer she was often found in her grandfather and uncle’s veterinary clinic in St. George, SC. There, she developed her love of the profession – from helping to pull calves, to scrubbing up to assist in small animal surgery, to drawing horse markings on shipping and testing papers. Like most other Shulers, she attended Clemson University where she earned a BS in Animal and Veterinary Sciences in 2001. After Clemson, she completed her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Georgia in 2005, and joined the Shuler Veterinary Clinic/Shuler Veterinary Clinic family. In 2009, she completed her certification as a Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner and has developed a rehab/physical therapy component to help animals in the practice.
Dr. Shuler Holladay has remained active in the veterinary world, serving as an officer in her local veterinary medical association as well as a member and as President of the UGA Veterinary Alumni Board. Outside of school and work, she has always used music as a stress reliever. She has been a member of several performance choirs throughout the years and continues to sing weekly in her church choir. Other musical ventures include a handbell choir and just playing the piano at home.
Dr. Marian and her husband live in Mount Pleasant with their two darling human daughters and their doting big brother, Captain Remley, the Labrador Retriever. They enjoy family bike rides, trips to the beach, and finding the occasional ice cream shop.
