Albert is originally from the D.C. metropolitan area. Growing up, his family always had animals in the household, including everything from dogs and cats to hamsters and turtles. This helped him foster a natural love for animals, and so Albert decided that the animal field was the path for him. In 2010 he started his career with animal welfare as a veterinary technician in Maryland. In 2014, he moved to Virginia where he worked as an animal care technician with a nonprofit animal welfare organization.

Albert relocated to the Charleston area in April 2018 with his wife, Mimi, and their cat, Arya. When Arya was only a couple days old, she was dropped off at Albert’s previous work after being abandoned by her mother. Albert took the malnourished kitten home and nursed her back to health. Today, Arya is a happy grown cat, and loves her new home in Charleston.

When not at work, Albert enjoys hiking, skateboarding, cooking, playing guitar, and spending time with his wife exploring the beach.
